Angels Investors is a binary options broker based in London and owned by a company called PEL Ltd. While the company states that the broker operates under license #092/08, no regulatory agency is mentioned, so this is likely a generic business license number. The site takes USA customers, which indicates it cannot be a CySEC license. CySEC forbids their brokers from accepting traders from the US.

Plus, that particular CySEC license number (092/08) belongs to Safecap Investments, a site which operates several other binary options websites. I find this slightly strange, unless PEL Ltd. happens to be a subsidiary, but I can find no evidence to indicate this, so I believe it is just a coincidence.

While Angels Investors has some nice features, particularly for education, they are lacking in a lot of departments, in particular web design and transparency. Customer service is also a bit difficult to get a hold of.

Angels Investors Account Types

  • Basic: $500 and up. This account has no bonus, but includes a free eBook and one web conference.
  • Classic: $1,000 and up. This account includes two web conferences each month, a 10% bonus, and market updates, along with one level of one-on-one trading education.
  • Professional: $5,000 and up. With this account, you get a 20% bonus, three web conferences a month, market updates, personalized technical analysis, a professional trader assigned to your account, three trading signals weekly, and the next level of one-on-one training.
  • Gold: $20,000 and up. Account holders at the Gold level get a 30% bonus, a weekly web conference, faster withdrawals, market updates, personalized analysis, an assigned strategist, two live coaching sessions, three signals a day, and the third level of one-on-one training.
  • Platinum: $50,000 and up. This account includes two weekly conferences, a 50% bonus, and all the same benefits as the accounts above, plus additional coaching sessions, signals, and one-on-one training.
  • Diamond: This is the VIP account status for Angels Investors, with special benefits not listed on the site.

You can see that Angels Investors is gearing their services mostly toward traders with larger accounts. Nonetheless, there is a reasonably comfortable $10 minimum investment size on their trades. So if you are starting with a Basic account, you can still trade responsibly. In fact, the site has a whole page dedicated to the topic of responsible binary options trading.

What about deposit and withdrawal fees? None are explicitly mentioned on the site, and it does state that there are none for credit or debit card transactions or transactions through Neteller. Other payment methods include Thawte, SOFORT, CashU, and Skrill, as well as wire transfer. There may or may not be fees associated with these types of deposit and withdrawals.

The company appears to have some kind of partnership with Neteller. They recommend them throughout their site, and also offer a special deposit deal for Neteller customers, where you can start trading with only $400, and enjoy a $200 bonus.

Trading on Angels Investors

Supposedly you can trade on your mobile device. You will see a link to the mobile platform on the home page, but if you click on it, it leads to a broken page, so at this time they do not appear to actually offer this feature.

You can however trade on your home computer. The trading platform may look unfamiliar to you—in fact, you probably will not recognize it even if you have traded elsewhere before. It turns out to be a white label platform called BNRMARKETS. At the time of this review, this is the first time I have ever seen this platform. While I did not find it tremendously intuitive, the graph looks very nice, and it is pretty easy to learn how to use.

You can trade 52 different types of currencies, stocks, indices, and commodities on Angels Investors. Types of trades include High/Low, One Touch, 60 Seconds, and something called “Leaps.” This turns out (somewhat humorously) to stand for “Long-term Equity AnticiPation Securities.” It is just a fancy name for Long Term trades. So trade types here are pretty standard. It is not the largest selection, but it is all right. For some reason, the site seems to lack the standard trade tools (early close, rollover, double up). Other trading tools like Social Trading are available.

Information Gaps and Hard-to-Reach Customer Service

This website is kind of lacking when it comes to certain kinds of information. There is no FAQ, for example, which makes it kind of hard to hunt down information. To make matters worse, it is hard to find information off the site concerning it, because the name of the site is so generic. So there is not a lot of readily available third party information or reviews for Angels Investors.

If you want to ask a question, you are stuck with phone (at least you can schedule a call back, which is nice), email, or a web form. When I tried to use the web form, it told me that my email address was invalid, which of course it isn’t. So that was useless to me, and I had to send an email. There is no live chat, which is kind of absurd. Live chat is one of the fastest, easiest and most convenient ways to talk to customer service, and they really should make themselves more available.

Given the web form and live chat issues, I am less than optimistic about the turnaround time on the email response. At that rate, I never even received a confirmation email when I signed up! If they cannot even manage an automatic email, how likely is it they will take the time to answer emails individually in any timely fashion?

Conclusion: Needs lots of work

I see no particular reason to mistrust the intentions of this binary options website, but there is no denying that Angels Investors is lacking in several regards. They have a long way to go getting their site and customer service together before I could begin to give them a recommendation. They do have a start, so hopefully they will work on those improvements. They may be worth looking at again in the future at some point. For now, I would advise that you deposit your money elsewhere.

      Hi Mike,
